VARSITY 2026
Both of our teams travelled away to O*ford to play in the 110th Lacrosse Varsity.
After some emergency lines being spray painted on for the Kingies' match, they set about in a feisty, end-to-end game. It was extremely closely contested throughout with halftime and three-quarter time scores remaining level. It was ultimately not to be as O*ford scored a late goal to win 9-8. Credit must go to the Kingies who made for a great game to spectate and played lots of high-level lacrosse.
The Blues set out later in the afternoon, light blue ribbons on display with a full side line of supporters. O*ford gained the scoreboard advantage early on in the game but the Blues kept fighting to remain in close contest. The dark Blues pulled ahead by 4 goals in the third quarter but after a team talk Cambridge came out with determination in the final 15 minutes. 3 quick goals gave the team and sideline hope. Sadly, O*ford managed to gain possession and find the back of the net with the full time whistle leaving O*ford ahead, 11-9.
A huge well done to captain, Freya Moody, who won a deserved MVP in her first Varsity for CUWLC. A big thank you and congratulations to @ouwomenslax_ for winning both their games and hosting us. See you next year!

VARSITY 2025
This year we hosted the 109th Lacrosse Varsity.
The day kicked off with a massive 16-4 victory for the Kingies who demonstrated their superior skill, speed and all round dominance on the pitch. This was a huge success and they should all be very proud of some insane performances across the pitch.
Unfortunately for our Blues, a hard fought game ended in a 13-7 defeat. Whilst the result wasn’t what we wanted, the match still provided some excellent viewing and a tense battle between the two sides. It was an emotional day for those CUWLC members hanging up their shirts at the end of this season and they will all be sorely missed next year.
On the whole, an action packed day with the game of lacrosse sure to be the true winner.

A NAIL-BITING DRAW
Both our CUWLC teams fought until the end at the 108th annual Varsity Lacrosse match against O*ford. Even on unfamiliar soil, Cambridge managed to shake down their competitors, with the Kingies securing a massive 12-5 win over O*ford, and the Blues putting on an amazing display of stick work and dedication to the game. The close fought match, resulting in a 10-7 win to O*ford, demonstrates just how equally matched both teams were. With the mens' teams securing a similar spread of results, this brought the overall result to a draw. Home turf next year is sure to promise another round of action packed matches - we can't wait!!

DOUBLE WIN FOR CUWLC & OVERALL WIN FOR CAMBRIDGE
The 107th annual Varsity match against Oxford University was held on Saturday 25th February. After an exceptional day of lacrosse, Cambridge University Womens Lacrosse Club came out on top with two wins - with Cambridge being the overall Lacrosse Varsity winners for 2023!
